HEART TO HEART - LA STYLE: Maxfield had me at hello. This place is more museum than boutique with it’s elegant Vintage Hermès leather handbags and distinctly worn luggage, heirloom watches of fine Parisian lineage, ice buckets adorned with Hermès horses and shiny gold rings—these are just a few of their (and my) favourite things.
Then there is a treasure trove of hard to find, vintage, out of print, first edition and new books in an array of genres, including: art, fashion, photography, music, design, and photography. A book from Maxfield’s is certain to delight any literary aficionado.
Throw a bit of Rick Owens, Chanel, Roland Mouret and Balmain into the mix and I was in heaven. Then stir a little of LA rock n’ roll in and you have just the right amount of edge at your finger tips to keep the needle on it.
Maxfield’s really was killin’ it in the style stakes. x
P.S. I mean, I could be at the Getty with those sculptures …in the car park! Dead chic and tres modern.
